Regardless of the platform selection, Monster Hunter Rise offers players a traditional experience of hunting down massive creatures to harvest resources to create or upgrade gear. Building off of the success of Monster Hunter World, Rise takes that familiar style of gameplay and streamlines it in a number of places including movement. Players can use a Palamute to ride around the various maps, or use a Wirebug to grapple, swing, or engage in new ways with the monsters.

As expected, getting stronger in Monster Hunter Rise requires plenty of resources and materials harvested around the maps and from monsters. One in particular, Firecell Stone is incredibly important for players attempting to upgrade their gear inside High Rank content. Here’s where players can find the resource and tips on ways to farm it.
Where to find Firecell Stones
While Firecell Stones are a High Rank resource, they won’t be available right from the start. These rare stones can only be found within the Lava Caverns, which isn’t actually unlocked right away until players knock out a few High Rank quests first.
Once the Lava Caverns are unlocked, players will want to hunt down any blue or white Mining Outcrops. Blue outcrops are more common so while the chances are lower for Firecell Stones, players have much more opportunities due to their fast respawn frequency. White outcrops are rarer, but have a greater tendency to give better, uncommon ore and materials.
Firecell Stone Farming Methods
While Firecell Stones are completely random, there are some things players can do to increase their chances of finding them more often. First, Monster Hunter Rise players should make sure to have the Geologist skill equipped, ideally at level 3. This gives the player more items each time an outcropped is mined. Using a Palamute, players can quickly cycle the map hitting the mining ores, letting them respawn as players rotate back around again.
Before entering a new High Rank expedition, players should check the locale info to look for the Mining Outcrops Upsurge indicator. When active, this gives players 10 minutes to harvest a significantly increased amount of ores in general when mining ores.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available on PC and Switch.
