Bringing back a number of fan favorite characters in a future DLC pack does make sense as not only does it tap into fan nostalgia, but these characters already appear in the main story mode. While none of them currently feature any variations like the current roster, NetherRealm did spend development time to model, render, and flesh out each of these characters enough to include them in the story. Tanya, a character revealed in the upcoming Kombat Pack, makes a similar appearance in the Mortal Kombat X campaign as players actually fight her within the story, though currently she does not have any style variations. Modders on the PC version of the game have already gone one step further by making a few of these characters playable. Through updating a few files within the game’s assets folder, reddit user XVermillion was able to “trick” the game into thinking he was using a normal roster character but instead was actually using Rain’s moves and character model. This user was able to repeat the process for Sindel and Baraka as well. Who would you like to see included in a potential “Story Pack” DLC? Let us know below in the comments. Mortal Kombat X is now available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It’s scheduled to release this summer for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Source: Ed Boon’s Twitter
